H1N1 Update - 2010
H1N1 has so far completely overshadowed seasonal influenza, which generally begins circulating in the United States in October and peaks in February. Results from flu tests show the pandemic of swine flu is definitely on the down swing in the United States.
Flu activity for the week of JANUARY 31 - FEBRUARY 6, 2010 in the United States remained about the same as during the previous weeks. Flue activity is relatively low at this time, with most flu continuing to be caused by 2009 H1N1.
The Manchester and Glastonbury Health Departments completed its vaccination campaign on February 23, 2010. In total there were 26 Vaccination Clinics and 5000 Vaccinations were administered. The H1N1 swine flu vaccine should be included in the 2010-2011 seasonal flu vaccine for Fall/Winter 2010 according to the World Health Organization. As in previous years there will only be one Flu Clinic in the upcoming flu season.
