Transportation
The Senior Center offers transportation for seniors to and from the Senior Center on weekdays. In addition, each Tuesday a Senior Center bus is available for grocery shopping and each Wednesday a Senior Center bus is available for retail shopping. This Senior Center bus transportation is available for seniors aged 60 and over.
Senior Center Shopping Policy
A recent review by the Town's Employee Safety Insurance carrier has brought about a small but necessary change to how we operate our shopping program. These changes are being made for the safety and well-being of our three bus drivers.
3 reusable shopping bags will be issued to each of our shoppers. The bags will consist of two regular and one insulated bag. The bags will be marked with each shopper's name, and we will ask that shoppers bring their reusable bags each time they go shopping on the Senior Center bus. Each shopper will be required to limit their purchases to what will fit within the three bags. At major holiday times (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Hanukkah, Easter/Passover), an additional bag will be provided by the driver upon request for the two weeks before each holiday.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation with this new procedure. If you have any questions about this new policy, please do not hesitate to contact the Senior Center Director, Eileen Faust, or stop in at the Senior Center front office.
