The
North Central Regional Mental Health Board (NCRMHB) is
one of five regional mental health boards established by the Connecticut
General Assembly in 1975 to study local needs, evaluate state funded
mental health programs, and make service recommendations to the
Commissioner of the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
This work is carried out by volunteer members of local Catchment
Area Councils which include representatives from every town in the
region.
The
councils were established to ensure that citizens from every town
in Connecticut will be actively involved in determining and monitoring
the kind of mental health service that will be provided locally
by the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
Council members also disseminate information to towns, media, legislators,
and the general public about available mental health services and
issues that might affect services. |
