The
Manchester Area Conference of Churches,
Manchester's primary social services agency, is dedicated to enhancing
the quality of life in the greater Manchester community by offering
access to services that provide for basic human needs including
food, shelter and clothing through the collaborative work of member
churches and organizations. MACC
programs include the following:
The Samaritan Shelter provides 40 beds for men and women 18 years
of age and older along with meals, personal care items and case
management and outreach services. For information call 647-8003.
The Sheperd's Place Soup Kitchen serves hot meals at noon Monday
through Saturday for anyone in the community in need of a meal.

The Emergency Food Pantry is open 9:30 to noon weekdays for families
and individuals in need. For more information call 647-8003.
The Human Needs Fund provides financial assistance to help with
rent, security deposits, fuel, medical, personal care and transportation
of clients in Manchester and Bolton who meet financial criteria
and work with a MACC case manager. For more information call
647-8003.
The Clothing Store distributes clothing and household items to individuals
and families at little or no cost. Their new location is 46
Purnell Place. There is an excellent selection of slightly
used and new children's, men's and women's clothing. Hours
of operation are Monday-Friday 10AM - 4PM and Saturday 10AM-2PM.

The Jobs Program assists clients to develop the necessary skills
and attitudes to find and keep employment that will enable them
to become self-supporting.
Seasonal Sharing Programs include food baskets or groceries at holiday
times as well as distribution of gifts to individuals and families
at Thanksgiving and Christmas time.
